I’ve got non-specific anxiety going on right now and it feels terrible. I think I know what the reason is, though: I’ve been over-stimulated the past few days and I’ve been eating strangely and sleeping badly.
On Wednesday, I had an exam and it was my birthday and we went out for a meal and ate too much. On Thursday, we went down to visit the university I’m going to attend and met lots of people and ate badly. On Friday, we went to London to see Matilda and that was a sensory smorgasbord and there was the London Underground. Yesterday I spent most of the day baking and exhausted myself with it. And today we had a load of the family come over for my birthday party and we ate lots of food and there was lots of social interaction.
So I know exactly why I’m feeling anxious and uncomfortable. I’ve wound myself up too tight and now I’m having trouble relaxing, which means I’m sitting here obsessively refreshing things on the Internet and feeling like I should be accomplishing something.
But I don’t. Because I’m just over-stimulated and stressed. I’m okay. I’m going to be okay. I’m going to go to college just for tutorial and I’m going to take my iPad and headphones and make notes on The Bloody Chamber and everything is going to be okay.

So why exactly is one not allowed to send links in an ask? It seems ass-backwards to me.
The hate in the fandom because someone doesn’t like a character depresses me. Just because someone can’t stand a character doesn’t mean that character isn’t wonderful. To me that just means the characters very successful. They’re written and portrayed in a realistic way and gives us real feelings towards them. Sometimes they may be negative feelings. So if someone says they hate Irene, Anderson, Sherlock, etc, don’t get onto them and say they’re stupid. Hate will just end up destroy the fandom.
Most of my hate is directed at people who dislike characters for terrible reasons. Hate on Sally for being mean to Sherlock but give him a pass for exposing her and Anderson’s alleged affair? Yup, I’m going to side eye you.
This. I’m not that keen on Sally – mostly because I over-identify with Sherlock and thus her calling him names feels like her calling me names, and that’s not nice – but what Sherlock did was Not Cool.
Also, I get the feeling that Sherlock accidentally did something Super Not Cool to her in the past and that’s why she dislikes him so much, so I don’t feel like I can hate or dislike her because I don’t understand where she’s coming from with her dislike of him. I really want to know what he did. :O
I’ve been unable to get on Tumblr for a while because of pesky real life and my birthday and going on a university visit re. disability and accommodation, so if I’ve missed something important, please let me know, okay? I do care. Just so busy!
My opinion on sex and shaving are roughly the same:
I don’t care if you do it everyday, once a week, once a month, or not at all. It’s about what makes you happy. But never do it because you feel like you “have to.”

I agree with this for the most part. Except… well, I don’t shave because it makes me happy. I shave because if I didn’t, my sensory issues would go haywire and make me unhappy. So….yeah, I agree; I just don’t know if happy is the right word there.
I agree with Rose. It’s less about whether it makes you happy, per se, but it’s about only shaving or waxing or whatever if you want to do it for whatever reason rather than feeling forced to do it.
It’s… it’s about agency and making a free choice to do what you want with your body rather than feeling compelled to do it because of the whims of other people. If that makes sense.
